PRIVACY POLICY
Your information.
Your choices.
What stays on your phone, what happens when you visit this website, and how to ask for help.
Updated . This policy covers the LabelCalm website and the current personal-use app. Accounts, Circle sharing and paid subscriptions are not available yet.
Who is responsible
Dasher Consulting Ltd is the data controller for information we receive through this website and support. Email support is being set up; support@labelcalm.com is not active yet. For current enquiries, write to Dasher Consulting Ltd, 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom.
Visiting this website
The site does not use advertising or analytics scripts, set analytics or advertising cookies, offer an account or signup form, or ask you to upload labels. The interactive example runs in your browser: your example selections stay in memory and reset when you reload.
Website hosting is provided through Vercel. Delivering pages and protecting the site can involve your IP address, requested page, request time and browser or device information. This request information is separate from personal label checks in the app. See Vercel's privacy notice.
Personal information in the app
The current personal-use app stores your ingredient selections, local profile names and relationships, preferences, label text, check results, saved products and chosen images on your phone. Camera and photo access are used for the checks and images you choose. Optional location capture is off by default and requires your permission.
Personal use does not require an account. Apple sign-in does not provide an automatic backup of your Library or history. We cannot retrieve information held only on your phone if the phone is lost or replaced.
When a feature uses the internet
The current personal release is configured for local checks. If an internet barcode lookup is enabled in a future release, the barcode and normal network request information may be sent to the lookup service; this is different from uploading your images or ingredient preferences. The applicable providers and controls will be described before that release. Opening an external link or sending an email also uses the service you choose.
History, saved products and exports
Scan history, captured label images and automatic scan learning default to 90 days. You can change the period in Privacy. Older records are removed when the app opens and when you save the retention setting; this is not a background deletion guarantee while the app is closed.
Deliberately saved Library products and their label copies, personal profiles and preferences remain until you delete them. In-app export files expire with history. Copies you save to Files, email or another service remain in those places until you remove them there.
Emailing support
When email support opens, we will receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as your name, device and app version, description of an issue or attachments. We use this to answer the request, investigate the issue and manage necessary follow-up. Our email service provider handles that correspondence for us.
Please do not send passwords, payment details, full device backups or unnecessary medical or health information. A support email is not a mailing-list signup.
Why we use information
We rely on our legitimate interests in delivering a secure website and answering support enquiries, while considering your privacy. We also process information where necessary to meet legal obligations, including applicable data-rights requests. Optional permissions in the app are under your control; refusing them does not sign you up for an account or sharing service.
Retention of support and website records
Support correspondence is kept for the time needed to resolve your enquiry and necessary follow-up. Information may need to be kept longer to meet a legal obligation or address a dispute. Hosting request information is subject to the hosting service's retention and security controls. Contact us if you need details about records relevant to your request.
Service providers and international processing
Hosting and email providers may process information outside the UK. Vercel describes its processing and transfer safeguards in its Data Processing Addendum. We use service providers for delivery and support rather than selling your personal information. Provider processing does not mean your local app Library has been uploaded.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information we hold, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights are not absolute. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. We may ask for proportionate information to verify a request; never send a password.
Start with Your data or contact us. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Future sharing and policy changes
Circles will be an optional service for sharing selected product and ingredient information. It is not available now. Account, cloud storage, billing and shared-data retention details will be published before that service opens. We will date changes to this policy and provide an appropriate notice if the way we use information changes materially.
